Forced Authorization Code (FAC)

A CUCM feature that requires users to enter an authorization code with sufficient level before a route pattern routes the call.

Definition

Each FAC has an authorization level from 0 to 255, and each route pattern requiring FAC has a minimum level. Users hear a tone and enter their code; calls are logged in CDRs with the authorization code name. FAC restricts expensive destinations such as international calls.

Example

International route pattern 9.011! requires FAC level 10, which only executives' codes satisfy.

Exam tip

FAC restricts access; CMC tracks billing. Both are set on the route pattern.
