Route Pattern (RP)

A CUCM pattern that matches dialed digits and routes the call to a gateway, trunk or route list with optional digit manipulation.

Definition

Route patterns use wildcards such as X, !, [ ] and @ to match ranges of numbers. Settings include the partition, route destination, Forced Authorization Code level, Client Matter Code requirement, urgent priority, and calling and called party transformations including discard digits and prefix digits. When the route pattern points to a route list, digit manipulation can also be applied per route group.

Example

9.1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX in partition PT-NANP routes to RL-PSTN with discard digits PreDot.

Exam tip

Digit manipulation on the route list details overrides the route pattern's manipulation for that route group.
