CTI Route Point

A virtual CUCM device that receives calls for an application, which then redirects them, such as a UCCX trigger number.

Definition

CTI route points can handle multiple simultaneous calls and are controlled by a CTI application that decides where to send each call. They are paired with CTI ports, virtual devices that terminate media for IVR prompts. If the controlling application is down, calls to the route point follow its forwarding settings.

Example

UCCX trigger 5000 is a CTI route point that redirects calls to CTI ports for IVR treatment.

Exam tip

Configure call forward on failure on route points so calls are not lost when the application is down.
