Video Graphics Array (VGA)

A legacy analog video connector (DE-15, three rows of 15 pins) for monitors and projectors.

Definition

VGA carries analog RGB video with no audio and is susceptible to signal degradation and blurriness at high resolution. It persists on older projectors and KVM switches. Converting digital outputs to VGA requires an active adapter.

Example

A blue DE-15 connector on an older conference room projector.

Exam tip

VGA = analog, 15 pins in three rows, no audio.
