OSPF Type 2 Network LSA

The LSA originated by the DR on a multi-access segment, listing all routers attached to that transit network.

Definition

The link-state ID is the DR's interface IP address. It represents the segment as a pseudonode in the SPF tree and includes the subnet mask. It floods only within the area.

Example

show ip ospf database network

Exam tip

No DR means no Type 2 LSA; point-to-point links do not generate Type 2 LSAs.
