Liquid Cooling

A cooling method that pumps coolant through a block on the CPU or GPU to a radiator with fans.

Definition

Liquid cooling moves heat to a radiator, allowing quieter and more effective cooling of high-power components. All-in-one (AIO) coolers are sealed, prefilled units, while custom loops use separate pumps, reservoirs, and tubing. Pump failure or leaks are the main risks.

Example

A 240 mm AIO cooler mounts its radiator at the top of the case with two 120 mm fans.

Exam tip

If a liquid-cooled CPU overheats with fans spinning, suspect a failed pump.
