Interdigit Timeout (T302)

The CUCM timer (15 seconds by default) that waits for further digits before routing a call when a longer pattern might still match.

Definition

If dialed digits match a pattern but could also match a longer pattern, CUCM waits for the T302 timer before routing. Users experience this as post-dial delay, common with variable-length international patterns ending in !. It can be avoided by pressing #, by using urgent priority on the pattern, or by designing non-overlapping patterns.

Example

A user dials 9011442071234567 and waits 15 seconds before the call proceeds because 9011! might accept more digits.

Exam tip

Post-dial delay on specific calls usually points to overlapping patterns and T302; fixes include urgent priority, # termination or reducing T302.
