EIGRP Named Mode

Hierarchical EIGRP configuration that groups all IPv4 and IPv6 settings under address families in one process.

Definition

Named mode uses router eigrp NAME with address-family ipv4 unicast autonomous-system N, then af-interface and topology sections. Interface-level commands like authentication, hello timers and split horizon move under af-interface. It supports wide metrics and newer features such as add-paths.

Example

router eigrp CORP / address-family ipv4 unicast autonomous-system 100 / network 10.0.0.0

Exam tip

The name is local; the autonomous-system number under the address family must match between neighbors.
