Sprint

A fixed-length event of one month or less in which ideas are turned into value.

Definition

A new Sprint starts immediately after the previous one concludes. During the Sprint no changes are made that endanger the Sprint Goal, quality does not decrease, the Product Backlog is refined as needed, and scope may be clarified and renegotiated with the PO.

Example

A team uses consistent two-week Sprints to create a steady cadence.

Exam tip

Sprint length is fixed for its duration; only the PO can cancel a Sprint, if the Sprint Goal becomes obsolete.
