Lucent Connector (LC)

A small form-factor fiber connector with a 1.25 mm ferrule and push-pull latch, usually used as a duplex pair.

Definition

LC is the dominant fiber connector for SFP and SFP+ transceivers and high-density patch panels. Its small size allows twice the density of SC connectors.

Example

An SFP+ module accepts a duplex LC patch cord.

Exam tip

LC is the small connector used on SFP modules; "Little Connector" is a memory aid.
