Guest Anchor Controller

A controller, typically in a DMZ, to which guest traffic is tunneled from foreign controllers.

Definition

Guest anchoring sends all guest WLAN traffic over mobility tunnels to a DMZ controller, isolating it from the internal network. The anchor provides IP addressing and web authentication. Juniper Mist Edge and Meraki concentrators offer similar functions.

Exam tip

Guest anchor isolates guest traffic in the DMZ without extending guest VLANs across the campus.
