AV Performance Verification

Systematic testing of an installed AV system against standards and design intent, as defined in ANSI/INFOCOMM 10:2013.

Definition

The Audiovisual Systems Performance Verification standard lists about 160 reference verification items organized by phase (pre-integration, systems integration, post-integration and closeout) covering audio, video, control, cabling, physical installation and documentation. Projects select relevant items and record pass or fail results. It provides objective evidence that a system meets requirements.

Example

Before handover, the team verifies audio coverage, display alignment, control functions and cable labeling against the checklist.

Exam tip

Verification happens throughout the project, not only at the end.
