Peer-to-Peer Blocking

An AP or controller setting that prevents wireless clients from communicating directly with each other.

Definition

Also called client isolation, P2P blocking drops or forwards upstream client-to-client traffic within the same WLAN. It is standard for guest networks and protects against lateral attacks. Cisco WLCs offer drop and forward-upstream options.

Exam tip

Guest networks should always enable client isolation.
