Adjacency SID

A local segment that forces a packet across a specific IGP adjacency (link), regardless of shortest path.

Definition

An adjacency SID represents one IGP adjacency and is only meaningful on the router that advertises it. Adjacency SIDs are dynamically allocated from the SRLB or dynamic label range and are used in explicit TE paths and TI-LFA repair lists.

Example

Label 24005 on R2 means 'send out link to R3'.

Exam tip

Adjacency SIDs are locally significant; the same value on another router means something else.
