Build my study plan

  1. Weeks 1-2: Python fundamentals and data formats (JSON, XML, YAML); write parsers for each.
  2. Weeks 3-4: REST API concepts, authentication, status codes; script against Cisco DevNet sandboxes (Catalyst Center, Meraki, Webex).
  3. Weeks 5-6: Git, unit testing, design patterns, Docker and CI/CD basics.
  4. Weeks 7-8: NETCONF/RESTCONF/YANG, Ansible playbooks and Terraform basics.
  5. Weeks 9-10: Network fundamentals review and full timed practice exams.

Exam-day tips

  • APIs and Infrastructure and Automation are the two largest domains (20% each); be able to read Python that calls an API and predict the output.
  • Know HTTP verbs and status codes (200, 201, 204, 400, 401, 403, 404, 500) cold.
  • Expect questions on Git commands (clone, branch, merge, diff) and on reading Dockerfiles.
  • Know which Cisco platform exposes which API style (Meraki dashboard REST, Webex REST, IOS XE RESTCONF/NETCONF).
  • Do not neglect the 15% network fundamentals domain; developers often lose points there.
