Exam-day tips

  • Think at enterprise level: the right answer usually rebalances or re-prioritizes the portfolio, not fixes a project.
  • Strategic alignment beats short-term performance when answers conflict.
  • Know the difference between portfolio, program and project governance responsibilities.
  • Download the current PfMP Exam Content Outline from PMI to confirm domain weights before you study.
  • Use the optional break; fatigue in the last hour costs points.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the PfMP cost?

How many people hold the PfMP?

It is PMI's rarest professional credential, held by a few thousand people worldwide, which makes it a strong differentiator.

Is the PfMP worth it?

For PMO directors and portfolio leads in large enterprises and government, yes; for hands-on delivery managers, PgMP or PMP is more relevant.

How do I keep the PfMP active?
