Build my study plan

  1. Week 1-2: Python Essentials 2 modules on modules/packages, pip, and the exception hierarchy.
  2. Week 3: Strings in depth - methods, slicing, ord/chr, comparisons and sorting.
  3. Week 4-5: OOP - class vs instance variables, inheritance, super(), __str__, hasattr/isinstance, name mangling.
  4. Week 6: Generators, closures, lambdas and file I/O; take the $49 practice test and review the official syllabus.

Make it yours: pick your exam date and weekly hours. We'll split your time by domain weight and give you a printable plan.

Exam-day tips

  • OOP is the heaviest topic - trace attribute lookup through multiple inheritance (MRO) by hand.
  • Know the exception class hierarchy and the order in which except clauses are matched.
  • Expect tricky string questions on immutability, slicing and comparison of mixed case.
  • Understand __name__ == '__main__', sys.path and how packages are initialized.
  • Use the 65 minutes wisely: about 90 seconds per item.
