Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to run a project end to end without inventing the process as they go. Students plan and charter a project, build a schedule and budget that hold, manage risk, change and stakeholders through delivery, and close the work properly — carrying one case study from initiation to closure across the week and producing the artifacts as they go.
This course also helps students prepare to take the CompTIA Project+ (PK0-005) exam — the vendor-neutral, methodology-neutral project credential for the person actually running the work. It is not tied to one framework: students learn predictive, agile and hybrid delivery and, more usefully, when each one fits.

- Work in predictive, agile and hybrid life cycles, and choose between them on the merits rather than habit
- Initiate a project: a charter, sponsor, stakeholder map and scope that survive contact with the business
- Plan schedule, cost, resource and quality, and build a baseline that is realistic enough to measure against
- Identify, assess and respond to risk before it turns into an issue
- Run change control so scope moves deliberately rather than quietly
- Communicate status to technical and non-technical audiences so problems surface while they are still cheap
- Handle vendors, procurement and the contract types a technical project runs into
- Work within the governance, compliance and data-handling constraints of a real IT environment
- Close a project properly: acceptance, operational handover, lessons learned and release of resources

Prerequisites
- No certification is required to sit this exam
- Familiarity with a working IT environment — who does what, and how work reaches them
- CompTIA recommends six to twelve months managing projects in a technical environment. That is a recommendation, not a bar to entry — this camp is built to take a capable technical professional there
