Cat5e vs Cat6 vs Cat6a: What's the Difference?

All three are twisted-pair Ethernet cable categories with a 100-meter channel limit, but they differ in supported frequency and how far they can carry 10 Gbps. Cat 5e is rated for 1 Gbps, Cat 6 supports 10 Gbps only to about 55 meters, and Cat 6a supports 10 Gbps to the full 100 meters.
