Build my study plan

  1. Week 1: Cloud fundamentals and service models; NFV and SDN concepts.
  2. Week 2: Linux and virtual networking labs: bridges, namespaces, VXLAN overlays.
  3. Week 3: OpenStack networking concepts (Neutron) and Kubernetes networking (pods, services, CNI).
  4. Week 4: Review Juniper Open Learning materials and practice questions; book the exam.

Make it yours: pick your exam date and weekly hours. We'll split your time by domain weight and give you a printable plan.

Exam-day tips

  • Know underlay vs overlay and why VXLAN is used in cloud fabrics.
  • Be able to describe Kubernetes objects (pod, service, deployment) and how traffic reaches a pod.
  • Know OpenStack core services by name and function.
  • Expect conceptual questions on NFV components (VNF, NFVI, MANO).
  • Juniper does not publish the passing score or objective weights, so cover every listed objective rather than gambling on a few.

Frequently asked questions

How much does JNCIA-Cloud cost?

Juniper associate exams are $200 USD.

Is there still a JNCIS-Cloud?

No. Juniper retired JNCIS-Cloud in January 2024 and the JNCIP/JNCIE-Cloud exams in 2023; natural next steps are the data center or DevOps tracks.

How long is it valid?

3 years.

Do I need Kubernetes experience?

Conceptual familiarity is enough, but basic hands-on time helps.

Is JNCIA-Cloud worth it?

It is a useful vendor-aware introduction to cloud networking; pair it with JNCIA-DC or a Kubernetes certification for more market value.
