thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to implement, manage and monitor an Azure environment — identities and governance, storage, compute, virtual networking, and the monitoring and backup that tell you whether any of it is still healthy.
This course also helps students prepare to take the Microsoft AZ-104 exam, which awards the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification. It is the credential most Azure job postings ask for by name, and the foundation under the specialist tracks — AZ-700 for networking, AZ-500 for security and AZ-305 for architecture all assume it.

What you'll be able to do

- Automate deployment of resources with ARM templates and Bicep files
- Create, size and configure virtual machines, and plan for availability
- Provision and manage containers, and configure Azure App Service
- Configure and manage virtual networks, subnets and peering
- Secure network access with network security groups and Azure Firewall
- Configure name resolution, and load balance traffic appropriately
- Monitor resources with Azure Monitor, alerts, metrics and log queries
- Implement backup and recovery, and prove a restore actually works

- Skills measured were last revised on 17 April 2026, and this course is built on that revision
- Microsoft does not publish the number of questions on its exams, so we do not quote one
- TWELVE MONTHS, THEN A FREE RENEWAL. Microsoft role-based certifications expire after a year and are renewed at no cost by passing an online assessment on Microsoft Learn. Budget the annual renewal into your plan — it costs nothing, but it is not automatic
- AZ-104 Voucher — an exam voucher is available through thinQtank for $165 USD. Ask when you register and we will add it to your enrollment

- Anyone planning AZ-700, AZ-500 or AZ-305 — this is the course under all three
- Service members, veterans and military spouses using AF COOL, Army Credentialing Assistance, MyCAA or VET TEC 2.0
Prerequisites
- Experience with on-premises virtualization — virtual machines, virtual networking, virtual hard disks
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs and encryption technologies
- Directory concepts — users, groups and role-based access control
- Comfort at a command line: PowerShell or the Azure CLI
- Understanding of resilience, high availability and disaster recovery
- AZ-900 is the step before this one if you are new to Azure entirely
