Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to plan and execute an information systems audit end to end — risk-based planning and evidence gathering, evaluating IT governance and management, assessing how systems are acquired, developed and implemented, examining operations and business resilience, and testing the controls that protect information assets. Students work the audit process the way it is actually performed: findings, evidence and a report a board and a regulator will both accept.
This course also helps students prepare to take the ISACA CISA exam. CISA is the audit and assurance credential — the one asked for by name in job postings for IT audit, internal audit and compliance roles.

What you'll be able to do

- Gather and evaluate evidence that supports a finding rather than an opinion
- Apply the ISACA audit standards, guidelines and code of ethics in practice
- Evaluate IT governance: strategy, structure, policy and how the board actually oversees IT
- Assess IT management — resourcing, performance, third parties and organizational structure
- Audit how systems are acquired, developed, tested and put into production
- Evaluate project governance and post-implementation review
- Audit IT operations: service management, incident and change control, and asset management
- Assess business resilience: continuity, disaster recovery, backup and recoverability
- Test the controls protecting information assets — identity, access, network, endpoint and physical
- Evaluate data classification, privacy and the controls that follow from them
- Report findings, rank them by risk, and communicate them to a technical and a governance audience

- ISACA CISA — Certified Information Systems Auditor
- 150 multiple-choice questions
- Four hours to complete
- Scaled score of 450 or better, on a scale of 200 to 800
- Five years of experience in information systems auditing, control, assurance or security is required to CERTIFY. Substitutions apply: a bachelor’s degree counts for one year, a master’s for two, and certain certifications for up to two
- You may sit the exam before you have the experience — you then have five years from passing to apply
- CISA Voucher — an exam registration is available through thinQtank for $760 USD. Ask when you register and we will add it to your enrollment

Prerequisites

- No certification is required to sit the exam. The experience requirement applies when you APPLY to certify, not when you test
