Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to secure the AI systems their organisation has already deployed, and to use AI properly as a security tool. The course runs in both directions: defending models, training data and inference endpoints against prompt injection, model abuse, data leakage and adversarial attack — and applying AI-assisted tooling to detection, triage and response while knowing exactly when its output cannot be trusted.
This course also helps students prepare to take the CompTIA SecAI+ (CY0-001) exam — the vendor-neutral credential CompTIA released in February 2026 for security professionals working alongside artificial intelligence. No machine-learning background is assumed; the AI is taught from the security side, for people who already know how to defend a network.

What you'll be able to do
10 objectives- Explain the AI and data concepts a security practitioner actually needs, without a machine-learning background
- Threat-model AI systems and the data pipelines that feed them
- Secure models, training data, inference endpoints and the supply chain of third-party models, plugins and agents
- Defend against prompt injection, jailbreaks, model extraction, model inversion and training-data poisoning
- Apply access control, isolation, secrets handling and monitoring to AI workloads
- Log and detect on AI systems so an abuse of one is visible the way any other intrusion would be
- Use AI to accelerate detection, triage and response — and verify what it produces before acting on it
- Recognise adversarial use of AI: automated phishing, deepfakes and accelerated attack tooling
- Apply AI governance frameworks and acceptable-use policy to a real deployment
- Assess privacy, data residency and regulatory exposure, and produce the audit evidence and model inventory to show it

Prerequisites
- CompTIA Security+, CySA+ or PenTest+, or equivalent knowledge
- Comfortable with network and host security controls, logging and incident response
- No machine-learning or data-science background is assumed
- CompTIA recommends three to four years in IT with roughly two years hands-on in cybersecurity. That is a recommendation, not a bar to entry — this camp is built to take a capable security practitioner there
