Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to design, deploy, secure, operate and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure — public, private, hybrid and multicloud — without tying that skill to any one provider. Students work through architecture and sizing decisions, migrations and deployment strategies, identity and access, observability and scaling, the DevOps pipeline that ships the changes, and the troubleshooting that follows when a deployment does not behave.
This course also helps students prepare to take the CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-004) exam — the vendor-neutral cloud infrastructure credential approved by the US Department of Defense under directive 8140.

What you'll be able to do

- Design for availability, disaster recovery and multicloud, and size to a real workload
- Plan cloud networking: public and private connectivity, routing and network functions
- Choose storage and database services on their actual characteristics rather than their names
- Apply cloud-native design, containerization and virtualization to a workload
- Cost a design, and optimize one that is already running
- Execute a migration, and pick between blue-green, canary, rolling and in-place deployment
- Provision and manage resources with infrastructure as code and configuration as code
- Configure observability — logging, tracing, monitoring and alerting — and scale on what it tells you
- Manage the resource lifecycle, and back up and recover what matters
- Manage vulnerabilities, identity and access, and the controls that hold a compliance regime up
- Work the DevOps pipeline: source control, CI/CD, systems integration and the tooling around them
- Troubleshoot deployment, network, security and performance problems in a live environment

- Project managers and business analysts responsible for cloud computing services
- Service members, veterans and military spouses using AF COOL, Army Credentialing Assistance, MyCAA or VET TEC 2.0
Prerequisites
- Working familiarity with a major hypervisor and with server virtualization
- Basic knowledge of the standard cloud service models and deployment models
- Practical experience of IT networking, network storage and data center administration
- CompTIA recommends two to three years as a systems administrator or cloud engineer. That is a recommendation, not a bar to entry
