Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students foundational knowledge of core data concepts and the Microsoft Azure data services that carry them — how data is represented and stored; relational data and the Azure database services behind it; non-relational data in Azure Storage and Azure Cosmos DB; and analytics, from large-scale and real-time processing through to visualization in Power BI.
This course also helps students prepare to take the Microsoft DP-900 exam, which awards the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals certification. There are NO prerequisites and NO scripting is required. AND LIKE AZ-900, THIS CERTIFICATION DOES NOT EXPIRE — Microsoft states that fundamentals certifications do not expire, while role-based ones lapse after twelve months.

The exam
DP-900700to pass, of 1
- Exam DP-900 — awards Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals
- Forty-five minutes to complete
- Skills measured, weighted as RANGES rather than fixed percentages, which is how Microsoft publishes them: Describe core data concepts 25-30%, Describe an analytics workload on Azure 25-30%, Identify considerations for relational data on Azure 20-25%, Describe considerations for working with non-relational data on Azure 15-20%
- Skills measured were last revised on 21 July 2026, and this course is built on that revision
- Microsoft does not publish the number of questions on its exams, so we do not quote one
- No formal prerequisites, and no scripting required
- DP-900 IS NOT A PREREQUISITE FOR THE ROLE-BASED DATA CERTIFICATIONS. Microsoft states this plainly. It prepares you for Azure Database Administrator Associate and Azure Data Engineer Associate, but neither requires it
- THIS CERTIFICATION DOES NOT EXPIRE. Microsoft states that fundamentals certifications do not expire. Every role-based Microsoft certification we run lapses after twelve months unless renewed. This is the exception
- DP-900 Voucher — an exam voucher is available through thinQtank for $99 USD. Ask when you register and we will add it to your enrollment

- Service members, veterans and military spouses using AF COOL, Army Credentialing Assistance, MyCAA or VET TEC 2.0
Prerequisites
- None. Microsoft sets no formal prerequisites for DP-900
- Basic familiarity with the idea of relational and non-relational data helps, but the course does not assume it
- NO SCRIPTING OR DATABASE ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED. You will not be asked to write anything
