Course overview
thinQtank® Learning is offering a unique instructor-led training camp that gives students the knowledge and skills needed to implement, monitor and administer IT infrastructure in line with an organization’s information security policy. Students work through identifying threats, managing risk, controlling access, applying cryptography, securing networks, systems, applications and cloud services, then responding to and recovering from the incidents that get through — including business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
This course also helps students prepare to take the ISC2 SSCP exam. SSCP is the practitioner-level ISC2 credential: it is the hands-on counterpart to CISSP, and it needs one year of paid work experience rather than five.

What you'll be able to do
12 objectives- Make the business case for information security, and align controls to what the organization actually needs protected
- Apply the core security concepts and practices a working practitioner is held to day to day
- Run integrated risk management: identify, assess, treat and monitor risk rather than react to it
- Operationalize risk mitigation — turn a risk decision into a control that is deployed and measured
- Secure communications and networks: segmentation, traffic controls, remote access and wireless
- Implement identity and access control across the estate, and administer it without accumulating privilege
- Apply cryptography correctly: what to use, where, and what a key management failure costs
- Harden hardware, endpoints, servers and virtualized systems
- Secure applications, data and cloud services, including what changes when the workload is not yours
- Respond to and recover from incidents, and support forensic investigation without destroying evidence
- Plan for business continuity and disaster recovery, and test the plan rather than file it
- Work the cross-domain problems where these areas meet, which is where real incidents live
