Course Overview
thinQtank® Learning is ooffering a unique two-day training camp comprised of two days of intense instructor-led learning for F5. As with all our F5 Training Experiences - exams are delivered in the classroom. With the completion of this training, learners will have a strong understanding of application delivery fundamentals and will ensure learners have the skills and understanding necessary for day-to-day management of Application Delivery Networks (ADNs). Learners will also achieve independence in performing day-to-day operations and basic troubleshooting of TMOS-based devices in various application environments after it has been installed, configured, and implemented.

This course gives network administrators, network operators, and network engineers a functional understanding of the BIG-IP system as it is commonly deployed in an application delivery network. The course introduces learners to the BIG-IP system, its configuration objects, how it processes traffic, and how typical administrative and operational activities are performed. The course includes lecture, hands-on labs, interactive demonstrations, and discussions.

Course Objectives
This course will help students learn:
■ Identify and define the components of TMOS
■ Describe the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model
■ Log in to a device and look at logs
■ Troubleshoot basic network issues
■ Create a problem statement
■ Understand client-server networking
■ Know common HTTP error codes
■ Describe basic differences between public vs. private cloud
■ Know common application service ports
■ Access/manage BIG-IP with multiple paths (management IP, Self IP)
■ Perform administrative tasks using the GUI
■ Understand the relationship and differentiation between virtual servers, virtual server types, virtual addresses, pools, pool members, nodes, profiles, iRules, and address translation (NAT/SNAT)
■ Learn HTTP, ClientSSL, ServerSSL, TCP, UDP, persistence profiles
■ Open a support case and utilize online resources such as AskF5, F5 iHealth, and DevCentral
■ Perform software management functions on the platform (for example, capable of performing upgrades and licensing)

■ OSI model, TCP/IP addressing and routing, WAN, LAN environments, and server redundancy concepts.
